Adult Criminal Division

The Criminal Division of the Leavenworth County Attorney's Office works with the Leavenworth Police Department, Lansing Police Department, Basehor Police Department, Tonganoxie Police Department, Sheriff's Office, Lansing Correctional Facility, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Kansas Bureau of Investigations. It handles violations of the Kansas statutes on behalf of the State of Kansas and Leavenworth County citizens.   

The Criminal Division prosecutes felony and misdemeanor crimes. These crimes include crimes against persons, crimes against property, and drug offenses. If you feel you are the victim of a crime, you should contact the law enforcement agency for the area where the crime occurred to make a report. Those reports are then forwarded to the County Attorney's Office for review and filing. 

Bad Checks

Knowingly passing a worthless check is a criminal offense (KSA 21-3707). Our office assists individuals and businesses in Leavenworth County who receive a worthless ("bad") check.
