Yes. Please tarp or strap your load before heading to the Transfer Station. We want to prevent littering, by trash and debris falling out of your vehicle or trailer.
County Residents can bring:
- Standard kitchen/household trash
- House/Basement/Storage/Garage clean out
- Yard waste - including grass/leaves/brush/yard clean up
- Construction and Demolition waste
- Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste
- Tires - On and Off Rim
- Freon Units
Being from out of the County, you are allowed to bring:

We do not take motor oil, PCB's, or Explosives.

If you are going to the Recycling Center you can drive right up to it.
For everything else, you must come on the scale and talk with the operator. Please DO NOT enter the facility without pulling on the scale first.

- Watch/wait for your green light.
- Proceed to the scale and come up to the operator's window. Notify operator what you are bringing in. The scale operator will direct you.
- You'll pull off the scale and look for one of the attendants to wave you to back into a bay to unload.
- After unloading, you will follow the orange 'Exit' signs around to our Outbound Scale, to reweigh and pay. When finished, follow the road out of our facility.
Yes. Leavenworth County Residents are allowed one free dump per calendar year. See Flyer.
We take Cash, Checks or Credit/Debit Cards (we do not accept American Express) for payment. When using a Credit/Debit Card there is a fee of $1.50 for charges up to $55, then the fee is 2.65% of the amount owed.
If you are a Leavenworth County Resident you can bring your sharps to the Transfer Station, as Household Hazardous Waste, for no fee. They must be in a container, to protect our employees. You'll come across the scale and talk to the attendant, then they will direct you. We do not take sharps from businesses, however, you can call (800)772-5657 or email sharpstracer@sharpsinc.com for information on disposal of business sharps.

Yard Waste/Brush/Compost/Mulch
You can bring your brush and limbs to our facility. If there is no trash, lumber or railroad ties mixed in, you will be able to dispose of that at our brush pile. You will still wait in line to come across the scale and let the operator know. Then you will be directed where to go. For pricing - Fee Schedule
If you are a resident of Leavenworth County, you can bring your live Christmas tree to the Transfer Station, for free, from the first of December to the end of January.
We will also take your used, burned out Christmas lights, for free, from the first of December to the end of January.

Yes. We have a mulch pile and a compost pile. Please call before coming to make sure we have mulch or compost available. You can load the mulch or compost for free, you will still come across the scale and notify the operator. Or we can load it for $10 for 3 backhoe scoops. Either way, you will come across the scale and let the operator know what you are needing.
Recycling & Electronics
If you're a resident of Leavenworth County, you can bring your electronics here for recycling, for free. We take computers, monitors, modems, keyboards, televisions, stereos, speakers, radios etc...

Yes. Large appliances, like stoves, washers, dryers and hot water heaters are considered metal and can be brought in for free. Dishwashers can be disposed of for the standard waste rate. Refrigerators and freezers will have a $20 Freon fee per appliance.
Small appliances, such as microwaves, toasters, and other small kitchen appliance, can be disposed of for a standard trash rate.

We do NOT take motor oil. You can try Walmart, an Auto Parts Store or TSC.
If you are NOT a Leavenworth County Resident, we cannot accept your paint or chemicals. You can contact your City or County to see about disposal.

- If you have more than 10 liquid gallons, please call for an appointment - 913-727-2858 to set up a time to come in. Our appointments are set up Wednesday thru Friday between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- If you have 10 liquid gallons or less, you can bring them at anytime we're open. You'll wait in line, pull to the scale, come to the window and let the scale attendant know what you have and they'll direct you.
- Make sure all lids are on tight and not leaking.
- All containers must be labeled/marked with contents.
- You must be from Leavenworth County
- You must submit a Business Hazardous Waste Application and get approval.
- Once approved, you must call 913-727-2858 and set up a time to bring your paint or chemicals in. Our appointments are set up Wednesday thru Friday between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- There is a fee for business disposal of Hazardous Waste, as listed on the application.
- Make sure all lids are on tight and not leaking.
- All containers must be labeled/marked with contents.
