  • Sr. Express Transportation services have expanded to include shopping/business (bank/post office) trips once per week, and hairdresser appointments may be scheduled.  Transportation to medical appointments and for work will continue to be offered.  Call today to be added to the schedule: (913) 684-0778.

    • Carotid artery ultrasound to identify plaque buildup in the carotid arteries, a major risk for stroke
    • Abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound to identify presence of an enlargement in the largest blood vessel in the body
    • An EKG to identify the presence of atrial fibrillation, which increases the risk for stroke
    • Ultasound of the lower legs to look for plaque buildup known as peripheral artery disease
    • Ultrasound of the shin bone to identify risk for osteoporosis
It is the mission of the Council on Aging (COA) to provide a variety of services and programs to the senior citizens of Leavenworth County which will ensure their safety, promote their emotional well-being, maintain their nutritional health and preserve their accessibility to community services while they remain in their own homes.
